How do I get my dog to stay still for photos?
Ah, the million-dollar question! Treatos, squeaky toys and my squeaky voice and a LOT of patience. Think bribery at its best, but I assure you it's for a good cause. I encourage you to bring anything that you props, treats or toys that will put them at ease, get their attention or is special to them.
Also, a tired dog is a cooperative dog – a good romp before the session works wonders! You know your doggo best, so make sure they are tired enough to cooperate BUT not too tired they just want to sleep.
If all of that fails, most of the dogs seen in my photographs are leashed (for everybody's safety) and I just happen to be a photoshop ninja.
What if Fido doesn’t cooperate at all?
No worries! I’ve photographed everything from wiggly puppies to zoomies champions to snoozy seniors. I’m like the dog whisperer but with a camera. We’ll get that perfect shot, even if I have to get down and dirty with the pups.
Can I be in the photos with my Best Fur-iend Forever?
I would love that! Just know that your dog will probably steal the show and be the centre of attention. They’re natural-born mutt-dels, after all.
Feel free to coordinate any doggy accessories with your outfit, if you need any style inspawration head on over to my Pinterest Board.
Adding a cute bandana, a dapper bow tie, or even that embarrassing holiday sweater you love. Just keep it comfy for you and them.
How long does a session usually last?
I used to put a time limit on sessions and always went over... because who wants to limit their time petting and playing with your amazing pup!?
I like to take my time and make sure your dog is at ease and living their best life so we can capture those authentic moments.
Session typically last between an hour to 2 hours.Large caveat, session can be finished sooner or run over in time - depending on what your aim for the session is, how much Fido is into it, if there are multiple Fidos and what the day/location looks like.
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! (well photos). How long will I have to wait with bated breath?
Once we've had our fun filled session, I strive to have photographs ready for you to view and proof by 2 weeks. Good things take time, and I promise the wait will be worth the wait. Your dog’s modeling debut deserves the perfect touch.
After that I will complete all your final edits and send you mockups for your artwork and await for your approval 2 weeks after the image reveal. You will then get your drool worthy digital images that accompany your purchased artwork to share with your soon to be envious friend and family.
Product delivery can take 3 weeks after the order is put in.
What your approach when it comes to dog handling?
