1) How winners are determined Winners of the photo contest will be determined by the
top 13 entrants who receive the most votes.
- Top 3 winners: The top three vote-getters will have the opportunity to choose which month their pet is featured in the calendar (with the highest vote total receiving first pick).
- 4th–13th place winners: Pets will be featured across the remaining months, assigned by Aubri Poon Photography.
- In addition to our 13 full-month winners, we’ll also feature 13 Monthly Cameo pets (one per month). These winners will receive a special landscape feature using two calendar grid spaces. These images will use the original contest entry photo, so entrants are encouraged to submit their very best print-quality image.
The calendar will include
January 2028, for a total of 13 featured pets. All TOP 13 winners will have their pet professionally photographed by
Aubri Poon Photography for the calendar.
2) Eligibility and photo requirements To keep this fair, fun, and actually printable in a calendar, entries must follow these guidelines:
- Pets only. No humans in the photo.
- No watermarks, logos, or text overlays.
- One pet per entry and per photo.
- Please submit a clear, high-quality photo where we can actually see your pet (think “I love you,” not “Bigfoot sighting”).
- If you are submitting a professional photograph taken by someone else, you must have the appropriate permission from the photographer.
Entries that do not follow these requirements may be deemed ineligible to win.
3) Multiple pets in a winning placement Pets may not be entered in the contest as a duo. Entries featuring two pets may share a month only if both pets place among the top 13 vote-getters through separate entries or placements. (Yes, your pets can be a duo. No, they do not need to agree on wardrobe.)
4) Calendar winner sessions + product availability All top 13 winners will receive an
on-location calendar photo session with Aubri Poon Photography. Sessions will take place on one of three pre-determined dates and locations, selected specifically for calendar production. If a winner is unable to attend one of the scheduled session dates, they will forfeit their calendar winner placement, unless they choose to upgrade their session to a full session as outlined below. Following each session, winners will have the opportunity to purchase additional products and images from Aubri Poon Photography, if desired.
5) Grand Prize requirements (Top 13 calendar winners) If your pet is one of the 13 to be photographed for the calendar, you must be able to bring your pet to a pre-selected location in the Calgary, Alix, or Kananaskis area during one of the scheduled session dates in May or June. Tentative dates include:
- May 15 Calgary
- May 16 Alix
- June 19 Kananaskis
Sessions will be approximately
15 minutes. If you are unable to commit to a session during these times or travel to the designated locations, you will forfeit your winning placement, and the next highest vote-getter will take your pet’s spot in the calendar. Optional upgrade option If you cannot attend the pre-selected session dates and locations, you may choose to keep your winning placement by upgrading to a private session with Aubri Poon Photography at a special calendar contest offer price of
$95, available to all calendar contest entrants. This upgraded session includes:
- One 5x7 print
- Choice of date, time, and location (within 1 hour of Calgary prior to June 30, 2026.)
- The option to include members of the household
- A relaxed session length based on your pet’s comfort
6) Weekly mini-contest prizes Each week during the voting period, one pet who receives the highest number of new votes that week will win a weekly mini-contest prize from one of our participating businesses.
- In the event of a tie, a random computerized drawing will be held among the tied eligible pets.
- If there are no new votes during a given week, the prize will be withdrawn and used at another time.
Weekly prizes will be announced as sponsors are confirmed.
